Journal and taxes

In the app, Journal holds your own notes: write an entry with a title and text, add the symbol it is about, read it later, and delete it when you no longer need it. Notes are written by you and are not linked to trades automatically yet.

Every order and fill a session handles is appended to its trade journal. Positions, P&L and daily statistics are derived from fills, so they match what your broker executed.

The terminal’s Account panel already shows the day’s P&L, win rate, average win and loss, and trade count.

A journal that fills itself from your fills: the day’s P&L, win rate and orders in the app, your notes linked to the trades they are about, and tags for the setup.

The coach will read your journal and point out patterns, such as which setups pay, and which habits cost you. It works from your journal only, and gives suggestions, not trade signals.

The tax module is planned to import your trades and compute:

  • cost basis and holding periods, lot by lot
  • wash sales across your accounts
  • Form 8949, Schedule D and Form 6781 (Section 1256 contracts, 60/40) data

and to export a CSV, a TXF file for TurboTax or H&R Block, and a printable Form 8949 statement, so you can reconcile the totals against your broker’s 1099.
