Connect a broker
Add brokerage accounts in the app under Accounts → Add brokerage account. Choose the broker and the environment (Paper / Sandbox or Live), and enter credentials for that environment.
Connect with OAuth where your broker supports it. Credentials and access tokens are encrypted when stored and in transit, decrypted only to start your session, and made available only to your session’s container.
Alpaca
Section titled “Alpaca”Enter the API key and API secret from the Alpaca dashboard for the paper or live environment. Alpaca provides streaming quotes for options and the underlying. Real-time options data depends on your Alpaca market-data plan.
Tradier
Section titled “Tradier”Enter your account number and an access token. Tradier’s sandbox is good for paper trading, but its market data is delayed by 15 minutes and polled rather than streamed. Use a live account for real-time streaming data. Tradier supports index options such as SPX.
tastytrade
Section titled “tastytrade”tastytrade uses OAuth: enter the OAuth client secret and refresh token of your tastytrade API application. The session exchanges them for short-lived access tokens on its own. Note that tastytrade’s sandbox does not provide market data.
Market data
Section titled “Market data”Every session gets its market data from its own broker connection. TradeShell doesn’t share or resell data, so what you see is what your account is entitled to.
Several accounts
Section titled “Several accounts”You can add several accounts, at different brokers, and run a session on each. The keys, the guard and the journal work the same everywhere.
